Spark Ads — the native ad that doesn't feel like an ad
A Spark Ad is a native TikTok video that runs under a creator or brand account, not under the "TikTok Ads" banner. It looks like organic content. It has engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares). It sits in the For You Page feed like any other video.
To a user scrolling, a Spark Ad looks like a video from their friend recommending a product, not an advertisement. This is why Spark Ads outperform standard TikTok display ads by 60-100% on ROAS and run 30-50% cheaper CPM.
How Spark Ads work on TikTok Shop
- You create a Spark Ad in the TikTok Ads Manager, linking it to a creator account (yours or an affiliate's)
- The video runs in the For You Page to a targeting audience you define
- Each video has a "Shop" button or bio link that takes users directly to your TikTok Shop checkout
- You pay per impression (CPM model), not per click or purchase
