Ecommerce competitor analysis

Type a store's domain and get one snapshot of what can truthfully be read from outside: platform, theme and storefront apps, catalog size and how long it has been publishing, best sellers when the store's own sort can be verified, new products in the last 30 days, tracking pixels, social profiles, and the Meta ads in our index. Each section says whether it could be read.

We read the store's public pages once (theme, apps, product feed, best-selling collection) and look the domain up in our Meta ads index. Nothing is estimated.

Enter a competitor's domain for platform, theme, storefront apps, catalog size and age, verified best sellers, pixels, socials, and the Meta ads we hold for it.

How it works

  1. 1

Theme and apps come from the storefront’s homepage HTML — the theme object Shopify exposes and the app blocks and scripts the store loads. Back-office apps leave no trace there.

  2. 2

Catalog size, catalog since and new-in-30-days are counted from the public /products.json feed. The walk is capped at 1,500 products; past that the count is shown as a lower bound, never rounded up.

  3. 3

Best sellers are read from the best-selling collection page only when a control fetch with a different sort proves the store honours the parameter. Themes that return the same order for every sort get no list.

  4. 4

Meta ads are an aggregate over our own index for the domain: active count at last crawl, creatives held, oldest still running, format split, latest three. A domain we haven’t crawled is shown as not indexed, not as zero.

A snapshot is one day. Majorka watches the store.

Catalog growth over time, every ad with copy and landing page, similar shops, and alerts when a competitor launches or scales.

Frequently asked

Where is the traffic estimate?
There isn’t one. Visit estimates come from licensed panel data we don’t have, and the alternative is a model dressed up as a measurement. This page only shows what can be read from the store or from our own index.
Why no review-site rating?
Public review sites sit behind bot walls and forbid scraping. A rating that works one day and silently breaks the next is worse than none, so we leave it out.
The store is on Shopify but the catalog says “couldn’t read”. Why?
Some stores disable the public product feed or serve a bot challenge to datacenter traffic. We record the failed attempt, don’t retry for six hours, and show the previous good read if we have one, marked as possibly stale.
How fresh is the snapshot?
Theme and apps are cached for 14 days, the catalog for 7, and each section shows the date it was read. The ads section shows the date our index was last updated for that domain. The same cache feeds the paid shop page, so a lookup here warms it there.
Does this work on non-Shopify stores?
Partially. Platform detection recognises WooCommerce and a few others from the HTML, and the ads section works for any domain in our index. Catalog, theme and apps are Shopify-specific and show as unreadable elsewhere.
